Each year the Marrs-Meyer American Legion Post, Auxiliary, Sons & Riders #991, in partnership with the Worth Lions, work together with many local businesses and volunteers to help families and senior citizens in Worth who are less fortunate to enjoy a happier Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday.  We deliver to these families a food ‘basket’ consisting of a turkey, milk, margarine, bacon, eggs, fresh fruit, potatoes, onions, bread, stuffing mix, and assorted can foods and pantry items.

At Christmas time, with enough assistance, we also are able to include toys, sweatshirts, gloves, hats, school supplies & backpacks for the children along with a grocery gift certificate for the seniors.

We accomplish all of this through the generosity of many businesses and individuals who donate their time and money to this very worthy cause.

Since 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary has been serving, helping, and meeting the needs of our nation’s veterans, military, and their families—both here and abroad.

This year we anticipate the need will be greater than ever before and, as we have been unable to host our usual fundraisers throughout this year our funds for this event are woefully depleted.  We hope you will consider making a one-time monetary donation that we would assist in our ability to purchase the food and essentials for our local residents in need.

You may drop your new, unwrapped donation(s) off at the Legion anytime during open business hours between  November 1st and December 16th.
